Saturday 17th February 2007, Melbourne.

We have decided when we would like to leave Melbourne, being Friday next week the 23rd. Matt, Lou and family are going to Tassie today for a week or so, and that now leaves us a week to do a few things we must do before leaving, and making ready for “on the road again”. Mind you a couple of things we are waiting on may, but hopefully not, change those plans.

We are more than likely going from here to Albury, and then have a leisurely tour along the Murray River before heading to the Sunshine coast once again. We have already seen much of the Murray in bits and pieces, but this time will be a bit slower and until it is time to go north.

I have finally obtained my new 3G (Next G) mobile broadband unit and hopefully this unit will be a lot better than the old CDMA unit. There has been a fair old story involving the process of getting the unit, but too long to tell here. The story has not actually been completed yet as this is one of the things that must be completed before we leave Melbourne. One of the most complicated parts of the process was obtaining an external aerial for the unit, and we are waiting for the patch cable to arrive from Queensland.

With the above hopefully happening on Monday we will then have a couple of days for getting ready for our move.

Tuesday 6th February 2007.

A little excitement today, for Piper the Cockatiel anyway, with Linda catching another Cockatiel. It was hanging around the van his morning talking to Piper so Linda thought she would see if she could catch it. Obviously being tame it came down to feed when Linda took piper, in cage, outside. It was surprising to see that Piper actually enjoyed the others company, as he has in the past gone berserk in the company of other Cockatiels, so they were both placed in the cage together. This only happened for a while though as we decided that we could not keep the both of them, and it seemed we would not find the owner, so we took him to the pet shop at Epping and they took him from us. They say they will hold him for at least a week in case the owners are found and then will attempt to find him a new home.

A couple of old friends, Kay and Adrian, arrived here today on their way to Tassie so it will be nice to catch up with them again, well I will, Linda is going baby-sitting tomorrow for three days and they leave on Saturday.

Sunday 4th February 2007, Melbourne.

Yes, we are still in Melbourne, and not a great deal to report.

We did go to Healesville Sanctuary today for a look, as we had intended to while here, and we had to go today as the ticket we had purchased last year was due to expire. It was a pleasant change to go on an outing like that with no kids in tow. We managed to loiter around the park at our own leisure and enjoy it a little more.

We are now giving serious thought about when to leave Melbourne, and it now looks like about two weeks time.
