Melbourne July 2017, week 3.

Wednesday 19th July 2017, Melbourne.

We are now in Melbourne, flew down yesterday, and so far, even though it is way colder than home, it does not seem to be too much of a bother. It is wet at the moment so that is what is making it also feel a bit worse, so we’ll see if it is much better when the sun decides to shine, if it does. The fact that we are inside at the moment with a big fire helps somewhat as well. We have made an arrangement with Matt to use their second car, it only means getting it from the rail station occasionally, so we do have transport when we don’t use public transport, which we will be tomorrow when we go to Port Melbourne.

Caboolture July 2017, Week 2.

Friday 14th July 2017, Caboolture.

We have had Narrelle and the kids here for the previous week, and what a treat it was to have them. Matt, son in-law, also came with them but just for a few days. He was originally going overseas for work, which is the reason Narrelle planned on coming, but he had to change his plans at the last minute for personal reasons, so he came as well. It was the first time Matt has visited and I think he appreciates now why we settled here. They all thoroughly enjoyed their visit and as I said it was such a joy to have them being so well behaved. Now it is our turn: We are going to Melbourne next week, as I said for Elly’s 18th, so we will be there in the cold weather from Tuesday for two weeks, BRRRRRR!

Caboolture June 2017, Last day of June.

Friday 30th June 2017, Caboolture.

Relaxing back into a normal routine back home. We have been busy organising what will be family time month of July. Narrelle is coming up with her kids on Sunday for a week, it will be good to see them again, and we are going down to Melbourne two weeks later for a couple of weeks. It is eldest granddaughter’s, Elle-Rose’s, 18th birthday, and we would not be allowed to miss that, we wouldn’t want to miss it either. Relaxing wasn’t quite the right wording as we are both a little busy preparing for Narrelle’s visit, not that we have to do much, but the house is organised for only two at present.

Caboolture June 2017, week 4.

Sunday 25th June 2017, Caboolture.

Two weeks away and now we are back home. With all the problems we had much earlier with getting the caravan in the other end of the yard, that I thought we had overcome, we had trouble again yesterday. The level riding bars dug into the footpath when reversing in, and that has not happened before. I can’t take the bars off because I need them to lift the van so it doesn’t scrape on the footpath, so it had me confused as to what was different. I took one bar off, I couldn’t remove the other because it just dug into the grass, and then I managed to get the van in. After a fair bit of thought I decided that this was the first time we had tried to get the van in immediately after returning from a trip, and the car itself was still fully loaded where it never has before, so it was the car that made everything lower than ever before. I guess I will have to come up with another idea to overcome this problem by somehow lifting the height of the car when in this situation by varying the ramps again.

Anyway, it is nice to get back and back into the comfort of the house once again.
